A couple has been arrested in Goa for allegedly killing a 5-year-old girl from their neighbourhood and burying the body in their backyard, an official said on Friday.
Deputy Inspector General (Ferozepur Range) Hardial Singh Mann, in an official release, said the murder was the handiwork of some gangsters. Mann said they have arrested 11 persons for their alleged role in the crime. The accused are still being questioned to ascertain their motive behind killing Balwinder, he said.

Police suspect that Afan was under the influence of drugs and have found evidence of drug use. The murders took place across three houses in the Venjaramoodu area near the state capital. Afan's mother, who survived the attack, is hospitalized. The victims also include Afan's grandmother, a young woman said to be his lover, his paternal uncle, and his uncle's wife. Police are investigating the motive behind the murders.
The four, including the wife of the main accused, were taken 'outside the state' by a special flight, Singh said.
The investigators are unable to join several dots due to lack of evidence from the crime scene.
